About Us

Apple Guesthouse offers quaint, personalized & friendly 10room accommodation in the heart of this unique UNESCO heritage city, just behind the main tourist street & two doors from the mighty Mekong River & its varied restaurants for all budgets. A short walk will get you to the major attractions; temples, restaurants, tourist information, tours, & morning & night markets are just around the corner. Rooms are spotlessly maintained; many are in teak, which is the traditional Lao style. All have air-cons & fans, free Wifi, LED TV with CNN, and HBO. The two superior rooms each have their private balconies overlooking the quiet streetscape. One superior double room has a fantastic new private bamboo porch creating a stylish, romantic atmosphere. This is good for smokers, as smoking is only allowed outside the guesthouse. A large triple room is very useful for a small family or if you are a group of 3 with a queen & a king-single bed. Our family room is very spacious with 2 king-size beds and roomy. The common balcony upstairs overlooks the alleyway’s activities, where you can sit and enjoy free tea, coffee, cool water & magazines. It’s a popular place for people using the free WiFi.

About Bounmee, “owner”

During your stay, you will be served by the owner, Bounmee Saipaseuth (Jimmy), and his friendly staff. Jimmy was raised in a poor village north of Luang Prabang. He was a Buddhist monk for 15 years and studied for a BA at a Buddhist university in Thailand. He knows information about temples, Lao culture, and tradition. Jimmy also worked at the Australian Embassy in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, for a few years as a property manager, and then he moved to Prabang and bought an Apple guesthouse in 2013. So Jimmy & his wife, Nou, will advise you on what to do and where to go each day; Apple Guesthouse also arranges airport transfers, Tuk Tuk service to waterfalls and caves around town, etc.

Lao owner Jimmy (a former Buddhist monk who has lived with his Australian family for 12 years) and his beautiful wife, "Nou", are truly exceptional. They both speak excellent English and have good local knowledge of the city and countryside.

Why the family loves this property.
